Diablo 4 Item Upgrades
The upgrade to an item allows players to raise the level of equippable items such as trinkets, weapons, and armor within a certain amount. They can be done at any item upgrader NPC using the appropriate currency.
Slots are used to add components to upgrade equipment to increase attribute bonuses and additional effects. They are generally slot-restricted, however, there are some universal upgrades.
Rerolling
A player can reroll an upgrade to an item in Diablo 4. This is accomplished by using the Level Up feature, which stops your game and shows four randomly selected upgrades. The ideal scenario is for the game to surface more information about an upgrade in its compare interface, such as "X stats gained and X stats lost." However, the majority of upgrade components can't be salvaged or replaced, unless with the help of an Upgrade Extractor. The only exception is glyphs. These can be salvaged by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or the Ascended Salvage tool.
Upgrades to an item can cost gold or Dilithium according to the item type. Many upgrades also require Flightstones or crests. The amount of Flightstones and Crests needed to upgrade an item is determined by the level of the item. Blizzard also sets a maximum level for upgrades. Upgrades to the highest level are costly especially when it comes to upgrading PvE gear.
